Ladies and gentlemen, this may be it.

Many of us have taken a break from D3 because too much about it was feeling broken and it wasn't delivering the epic experience that we expected from the Diablo franchise. Although the next patch (1.04) is not going to fix things perfectly, there are HUGE steps being taken in the right direction.

Here's some highlights from the preview:
-Legendaries are getting a huge buff- unique affixes and fun abilities
-Group play is being buffed- monsters no longer have 110% life in a 4 player game
-Stop the leeching- you no longer share your MF with everyone in your part
-Character ability improvements- Substantial buffs to many warrior abilities, other class changest o be announced soon!

It has been several months in coming, but I think this is the start of the game we are all wanting to play. So get ready for a sweet ride!

Don't ID those legendary items until the patch!

Sounds like good advice, Banshii, but the fact is that as soon as an item drops it has already been rolled. The "discovery" is just an unwrapping of the present.

As a corollary to this- beware anyone selling unidentified legendaries after the patch. They may be ones that dropped before the patch and therefore be worth far less than you expect.

Ahh, I read it wrong the first time then. I see now "As a reminder, these changes will only affect Legendary items that drop after the release of patch 1.0.4. This includes items that haven’t been identified yet (as items are rolled when they drop). With the extensive changes being made we can’t exactly translate old Legendary items to new. What might have been a decent item could become worse if we re-roll it, and vice-versa."

yeah i've been reading the blogs too about them, they haven't mentioned unique set pieces but at least the legendary stuff i can't ever find will be better . I do hope this means some people will come back to play, as I still feel all alone. Played with eternal8888 for a couple hours yesterday and died just cause we weren't the same lvl and noone in the guild seems to play HC.

Sorry for the derail... 1.0.4 definitely sounds good... bout the read the barb stuff now.

Anarchy and I have been playing HC together during the last week or so.

HC is probably best played at difficulty levels where the lowest level member of the group is comfortable. It seems like our play times are kind of opposite, but if we can get together I'll help you level back up.

What About Sets? - It’s worth clarifying that green Set items are Legendary items (just with a set bonus) and so the above philosophy applies to them as well. Some set bonuses are changing, they’re becoming more powerful, and a lot of them are having their base ilvl increased to 63

New Set Names - As set bonuses won’t interact between pre-1.0.4 and post-1.0.4 sets, the new Sets will have new names, as well as new individual pieces, to prevent confusion.
